MeetScribe — Offline Meeting Recorder & Reporter
Creator · Personal project
MeetScribe records a call as two independent audio tracks — the microphone and the system output — so each side of the conversation stays separable, then produces a bilingual (Arabic/English) report entirely offline.
Capture is built to be provable rather than assumed. Every session writes a manifest of chunks, device events and timing, and a verify step checks continuity against the interval the audio device was actually delivering, rejects dropped blocks, and fails a microphone track that has gone digitally silent mid-session.
Transcription runs locally on Apple Silicon through MLX Whisper. Arabic accuracy is measured rather than claimed: word and character error rates are scored against a reference corpus, and known Whisper failure modes — hallucinated stock phrases over silence, short repetition loops, single-language detection on bilingual audio — are each filtered explicitly.
The tool prints a recording-consent reminder every time it starts, and the generated report carries a field confirming consent.
