Soft Remit — E-Wallet & Cross-Border Payments

Software Engineer @ Atlantic Xchange

Das Problem

Remittances into Syria and the wider MENA region move through fragmented, largely cash-based channels. Atlantic Xchange is building a single e-wallet and cross-border transfer rail to replace them.

Rahmenbedingungen

  • Real money movement: a duplicated or half-applied transfer is an incident, not a bug
  • Mobile-first — for most users in the target markets the phone is the only computer

Zentrale Entscheidungen

.NET with the ABP Framework anstelle von a hand-rolled service layer

ABP ships audit logging, multi-tenancy and a permission model on day one. On a payments product those are requirements, and retrofitting them later is far more expensive than adopting the framework's conventions up front.

Flutter for the client anstelle von two native codebases

one team ships iOS and Android in step. At this stage release cadence matters more than platform-native polish.

Soft Remit is a fintech platform enabling e-wallet accounts and cross-border remittances for the MENA region. As a software engineer at Atlantic Xchange, I work on the platform's core systems using Flutter for the mobile experience and .NET with the ABP Framework on the backend.

Fintech demands a different level of engineering discipline: idempotent payment operations, transaction integrity, auditability, and security at every layer. This project is where I apply those principles daily.
