The problem
Event organisers issued and checked tickets manually, with no reliable way to stop duplicates at the door or to hand a company partial access to its own events.
Constraints
- Ticket validation happens at a venue door — it has to be fast and hard to forge
- Arabic-first audience, with bulk guest lists arriving as spreadsheets
Key decisions
a metadata system for per-event custom fields chosen over schema changes per client
every organiser wanted different guest attributes; encoding those as columns would have meant a migration per customer.
A comprehensive ticketing management system built with FastAPI, helping companies create, distribute, and validate digital tickets for events.
Key contributions: scalable data model supporting complex relationships between companies, events, guests, tickets, and templates; flexible metadata system for custom fields; multi-tier authorization (admin, company, employee); secure QR-code ticket verification workflows; bulk guest imports with validation; email templating with placeholders and image embedding; real-time ticket analytics; full Arabic internationalization; JWT-based API security.
