A hardware store ran its stock and sales out of a hand-maintained Excel workbook. Counts drifted from reality, customer debts lived in the owner's memory, and nobody could say what the till should hold at the end of a day.

the two hard constraints ruled out anything server-side. SQLite needs no daemon, and the entire database is a single file the owner can copy to a USB stick — which is also the backup story a shop will actually follow.

no admin rights are needed, there is no install step to get wrong, and a Windows update cannot break a runtime that lives in the folder.
Designed and delivered a complete offline inventory and point-of-sale system for a local hardware store, replacing manual Excel-based tracking. Built to run fully locally on the client's Windows machine — zero internet dependency, zero recurring costs.
Key features: full Arabic RTL interface designed for a non-technical shop owner; dual-currency operations (USD / Syrian Pound) with configurable exchange rate; sales and purchases with cash or credit tracking including partial payments and customer balances; automatic invoice generation; daily cash-drawer reconciliation per currency; reports and analytics (sales vs. purchases, top-selling products, daily movement charts, inventory valuation); low-stock alerts.
